Roman Vondrous is one of the few top reporters who are blessed with a gift of exceptionally strong artistic vision. His expression range is very wide and extends from original, sharp and original reportages to very subjective, stylised document; always on a topical issue and always thought-out to the last detail in which not only composition, shape and light, but primarily colour play a distinct and important role. Not by chance does his work attract attention and is awarded by international juries.

Roman Vondrous was born in Pardubice and studied at a Electro-Technical College. He is a photographer by trade and is currently studying in the fifth year at the Institute of Creative Photography in Opava. He’s been interested in photography since childhood and seriously since 2000, when he began to be interested in sports photography, mainly horse racing. He’s worked as an electrician with Czech railways and as a photographer at regional daily newspapers. Currently he is a photo reporter for CTK press agency, which covers daily news. In 2008 he photographed the summer Olympics in Beijing, China and two years later at the winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. He has received several awards at the Czech Press Photo competition.
