The Burning Man Collection

Marek Musil (1974) is a contemporary Czech visual artist. As a fashion and advertising photographer he developed a very distinctive style that inspired many advertising agencies with its efficaciousness. Marek embarked on his carrier 15 years ago in Woman and Life (Žena a život) magazine, where he took portraits of actors and other well-known personalities. He also worked for Fashion Story (Módní story) where he secured his place as a fashion photographer and gradually made his way to other Czech magazines - Elle, Esquire, Harper’s Bazaar, Why Not?! (Proč Ne?!), Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, In Style and Dolce Vita.

As an advertising photographer, he’s had an opportunity to work for some of the well-known brands - Birell, České dráhy, Komerční banka, Škoda Auto, T-Mobile, Adidas, ČEZ and Czech Tourism.

A section of his portfolio includes photographs taken for Czech fashion designers. For the last six years he’s been working on a black and white collection of images called Backstage of Fashion Week, taken at the Prague Fashion Week.

Currently he intersperses his professional photography with reportages from all over the world and produces documentary series of images of the world as he sees them with his own eyes. He is gradually fulfilling his dreams and desires to capture the world in its authenticity.

He has a rebelious Moravian blood in his veins and his photographs are enriched by his opinion of the world which he’d formed on his travels in Europe, North Africa, the Near East, Israel; his beloved New York and the rest of the United States. These days Marek lives and works in Prague.
